Working on Cold Storage Book Blurb

Blurbs. They’re a thing.

A blurb is a short description of a book. It, like all writing, is an art.

A blurb is not a synopsis, it’s a sale pitch with meat on it.

That’s what I’m working on now.

The blurb for Cold Storage.

You would think that, if I could write 75,000 words coherently, I could fashion 100 that have some pizazz.

Not true, my friends. Sadly. I wish it were 😁

So, this weekend I’ll be hashing out draft after draft of a blurb that tells you something, without telling you too much, that captures the essence of the thriller, without revealing the plot.

To use a writing term, blurbs are the inciting incident, the moment that propels you to take action you wouldn’t have taken otherwise.

In this case, it would be to get you to get the book. 😉

Actually, there’s more to it than that, blurbs vs. book covers vs. social proof, but I’ll save that for another post.

Right now I have an empty page crying out for a blurb and it’s my job to give it one.

Wish me luck… 🤔
