Kids & Writing

I’m very lucky to be the father of this wonderful woman.

My daughter has the same passion for story as I do and is often my sounding board for ideas. When she was nine years old, we watched The Birds and, as soon as it was over, she said, “Okay, let’s watch it again, except this time, tell me what the director was doing.”

Crazy.

She’s the best story evaluator I’ve ever known. She just gets it and sees the intersection of character and plot with skill beyond her years.

In this pic we’re on one of our monthly father-daughter date days. No matter where our days start, they end with us sitting around talking about story.

She’s such a blessing.

I have a lot of writing plans over the next five years and, no doubt, she will be in the middle of it all, cheering me on and offering her sage advice along the way.
