The Way Back by Phil Cooke and Jonathan Bock illuminates the current challenges with Christianity (people don’t live their faith) and tangible ways we can reclaim the faith through our actions. Quick read and thought provoking. Excellent book.
I’ve felt for a long time that Christianity has been treated more as a family tradition than a belief system that requires behavioral discipline. As a Catholic, I find this particularly true with people participating in the sacraments (confirmation, marriage) because “grandma expects it” than because they understand and want to adhere to the expectations of each sacrament.
